Transforming Calibration Processes: A Journey of Vision, Courage, and Continuous Improvement
John Adams, Alliant Energy
To kick off our meeting, John Adams, the Maintenance Manager at Alliant Energy, will initiate our discussions by sharing his personal journey of discovering a superior approach. When John set out on this path, he was presented with calibration results in the form of CDs (compact discs, for those under 30). But he had a vision. He aspired to access calibration results that would fulfill regulatory requirements, accurately track the time and resources required to optimize plant operations and provide his team and management with reliable calibration outcomes. Join us as we delve into this compelling case study, which showcases how a clear vision, courage, and a commitment to continuous improvement can revolutionize our work processes.

These days, it’s really hard to keep talent
Antonio Vega, TNT Instrumentation Solutions, LLC
Antonio has the ability to speak to talent acquisition and retention from both perspectives. Antonio started his career as a technician and has worked his way up to the owner and manager of his own service company. Antonio will share with attendees how to be the “must have” technician on staff and what it takes to keep these technicians on your team. How can being like a Tonka truck make you the most desirable technician on the team? Antonio will show you how to withstand the elements and the test of time.

Transitioning from Paper to Paperless
Karen Green & Quinton Jones, DC Water
At DC Water, paper-based certificates lead to inefficiencies, loss, and inconsistencies among technicians. DC Water faced increasing certification demands, complicated by COVID-19 restrictions. Collaboration between departments birthed a server-based calibration system, successfully centralizing remote certificate uploads. This presentation aims to share industry expertise on the system's benefits. Topics include industry trends, system design, tool selection, database creation, device organization, procedure development, accessibility, and maintenance indicators. Attendees can adopt these practical approaches for improved maintenance. DC Water's team will offer firsthand insights into system design and optimization.
